newspaper on
20 September 2010 for public comment. No submissions were received and the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) issued the licence on 1 October 2010.
The licence was advertised on 4 October 2010 in
The West Australian
newspaper advising that the licence had been issued and that there was a 21 day appeal period. No appeals were received.
(3) The licence application process is set out in Part V of the
Environmental Protection
Act 1986
. DEC assessed the application from Hanson Construction Material Pty Ltd as required by the Act and, in setting appropriate licence conditions for the crushing and screening operation at the quarry, took into account the requirements for screening of material under Category 12 of the Environmental Protection Regulations 1987.
