In relation to the freeway widening at Lake Monger, I ask:
(a) is the Minister aware that the original six lanes of freeway will be expanded to nine lanes plus two railway lines;
(b) what is the latest information and traffic numbers regarding the increase in traffic since the original freeway was opened; and
(i) will the Minister table the latest available traffic figures in comparison to the first available figures; and
(ii) if not, why not; and
(c) what plans, proposals or concepts has the Minister, his departments or agencies considered regarding the creation of noise barriers on the Mt Hawthorn side of the freeway adjacent to residential homes near the Lake Monger/Freeway footbridge?

.
(b) The current traffic count is:
· northbound, 287024
(i) Yes, in 1980 the traffic count in the same area was:
· northbound, 78980
(ii) Not applicable
(c) As no widening is currently proposed for the southbound carriageways at this location, there are no proposals for any additional noise walls.
