KNIFE ATTACK — WILLETTON — ROSSMOYNE
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
268. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Minister for Education:
The minister was seen last Thursday
wearing a pink hi-vis vest, proudly visiting a rebuild at Rossmoyne Senior High
School. As he confirmed earlier, parents at Rossmoyne Senior High School have
been writing to him and the Premier expressing concerns about their children
being radicalised at the school. Given that parents' concerns were raised
with the minister in April, did he allow time in his schedule to meet with
those parents while he was on site?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!

I really should not answer this, but
I am going to because it is just a ridiculous question. It was not parents—it
was a couple, a mum and dad of one child—who wrote to me, so let us get
that straight. Stop peddling that there were all these letters. As I said, they
never asked for a meeting with me. They never asked for a meeting. I actioned
it. I gave it to the department, and the principal met those parents, and the
lead school psychologist met those parents. That is what should have happened,
and that is what did happen.
