(1) Will the Indian Pacific still arrive and depart from East Perth Terminal once the Ellenbrook Line opens? (2) The Minister's announcement on the 50th Anniversary of the train's inaugural crossing of the continent in 2020 indicated that the Indian Pacific passenger train could arrive and depart from Fremantle, is this still an option? (3) If no to (2), why not? (4) If the Indian Pacific is to arrive and depart from somewhere other than East Perth Terminal, and there are no plans for the train to arrive and depart from Fremantle, Ccan the Minister say where the world-renowned Indian Pacific passenger train will arrive and depart from? (5) Are Forrestfield or Kewdale being considered? (6) If yes to (4), is the appropriateness of the the iconic and world-renowned Indian Pacific passenger service (which brings some 200 International and Interstate tourists into Western Australia each week and carries a similar number of International and Interstate out of our State each week) arriving and departing from a freight yard with no station platform or passenger amenities being considered as part of the decision-making process?

The Public Transport Authority conducted a planning study to investigate the costs, impacts, and benefits of relocating the Indian Pacific from the existing terminus at East Perth to an alternative location.
The study found the investment required to relocation the terminus to Fremantle is likely to outweigh potential benefits for the foreseeable future.
