With reference to a complaint made to the Ombudsman (ref 12254) about the Department of Agriculture and Food, I ask –
(1) In light of the findings of the Ombudsman will the Minister or the Department of Agriculture be in a position to offer Mr Sweet a written apology?
(2) Can you advise of the procedural changes that have occurred within the Department of Agriculture in relation to this matter?

The payments made to Mr Sweet were for one day's pay of $198.85, and the Magistrate's Order for two days' pay of $344.84. 2. There has been no fundamental change to the procedures in the Department of Agriculture and Food as these unusual circumstances should not occur again.
