I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. I advise - (1) The nomination of the new chair will be made to cabinet within the next few weeks. (2) The criteria used in the selection have been - (a) the candidate is to have a commitment to safeguarding WA heritage; (b) the candidate is to have a sound knowledge of management and governance issues; and (c) the candidate is to have a commitment to openness, timeliness and accountability in decision making. (3) The nominations from the Western Australian Local Government Association have only just been received; that is, on 25 August 2005. Appointments to other positions will be made shortly.
