THE TUARTS ESTATE, DALYELLUP — IRONBRIDGE HOLDINGS
I refer to my grievance in October regarding the failure of Ironbridge Holdings Company Ltd to comply with its contractual obligation for fencing and/or landscaping packages on some of the properties in The Tuarts Estate, Dalyellup. (1) Is the minister aware that the presentation of this estate is now so unsightly that it is of concern to other members of the urban development industry in Australia? (2) Has the minister written to Mr Wallace, the executive of Ironbridge Holdings, regarding the company’s failure to honour its contractual obligations? (3) What action has the minister taken to ensure that this company is made to fulfil its contractual obligations to homeowners? (4) Will the minister commit to meet with Mr Wallace, a businessman who is doing homeowners out of their fencing and landscaping and is the current president and chairman of the exclusive Weld Club, and resolve this issue by the end of the year? Mr W.R. MARMION

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)–(4) I visited Dalyellup two weeks ago and took the opportunity to drive through The Tuarts Estate. I do not have up-to-date briefing notes but I have been advised verbally in two separate meetings since then that Mr Wallace has sold out of his percentage in Ironbridge, although I cannot confirm this. I was also advised yesterday by my adviser on this same project that the owners are meeting their commitments now and providing the fencing and the landscaping packages. That is the advice I had verbally from my adviser yesterday, but I have not yet had it confirmed.
