I appreciate the enthusiasm of the Leader of the National Party. My response is similar to the response I give on a daily basis when I am asked about the travails of the WA Liberal Party and the meltdown occurring inside the WA Liberal Party. I have a major issue that I have to deal with on a daily basis. I am not in a position to spend my time idly speculating about whether vague concepts might be of assistance. Today is Wednesday and I have to deal with the issues in front of me on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the weeks and months ahead. I am not in a situation in which I can expend my energy or the limited human resources available on hypothetical scenarios about what might be available in 10 or 15 years. That time may well come, but that time is not now. The time now is being spent dealing with a serious issue that has immediate consequences for us. We must focus our energy and attention on the issue that is at hand now, and that is what I am doing. I am doing it with the cooperation of the broad Western Australian community and I am grateful for that.
