Mental health services—Eating disorders
160. Ms Libby Mettam to the Minister for Health:
I have a
supplementary question. Given this shocking state of affairs, with seven-year-olds
being turned away from emergency departments, will additional urgently needed public
health capacity for children with eating disorders be provided in the
minister's upcoming budget?

Thank you for the question. Member, as I say, we are
putting in place a number of supports for people to be able to access the
help and support they need. I am not aware of circumstances involving children being
turned away from emergency departments, but, obviously, those sorts of
anecdotes are concerning.
As I say, we are
investing a lot in mental health services. We are investing a lot in eating
disorder services. We will continue our work, which is delivering the care that
people need where they need it.
