Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to my question without
notice 1092 regarding the Morrison government's pre-election commitment
of $14.8 million towards a 10-bed youth forensic mental health unit in Western Australia.
(1) Has a formal offer of this
funding now been received?
(2) If no —
(a) why not?
(b) when is it anticipated a formal
offer will be received?

(2) (a) Negotiations
are still underway between the WA Department of Health and the commonwealth
government for the funding under the Community Health and Hospitals Program
announced by the federal government.
(b) It is
expected that a formal offer of funding will follow once the negotiation
process between the Department of Health and the commonwealth government is
complete.
