(1) Is the minister aware that the local council building accommodating the child health clinic for Newman has been earmarked by the Shire of East Pilbara for demolition and will not be available to accommodate the child health services in Newman in the near future? (2) If yes to (1), what are the government’s plans for the relocation of the service to another suitable site in Newman? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)–(2) No; the minister was not aware. The WA Country Health Service Pilbara has advised that it has not been informed by the Shire of East Pilbara of any decision to demolish the existing child health clinic. WACHS Pilbara has been invited to take up space in the new Newman co-location centre and vacate the existing child health facility provided by the shire.
