I refer to evidence provided to the Commonwealth inquiry into family, domestic and sexual violence and suicide, including reports indicating a high prevalence of suicidal ideation among clients accessing Child Sexual Abuse Therapeutic Services (CSATS) and Indigenous Healing Services (IHS), and I ask:(a) Has the Government considered this evidence in determining funding levels for these services;(b) What analysis has been undertaken of suicide risk among clients accessing CSATS and IHS services in Western Australia;(c) How is suicide risk incorporated into funding, service design and workforce planning for these programs;(d) What additional funding has been allocated, or is planned, to respond to the level of complexity and risk presented by clients; and(e) How many clients are currently unable to access services due to capacity constraints?

(a) Submissions to the Commonwealth inquiry into family, domestic and sexual violence and suicide closed on 13 March 2026. The Inquiry in ongoing and no Report has been published to date.
(b) The organisations providing Child Sexual Abuse Therapeutic Services (CSATS) and Indigenous Healing Services (IHS) services identify and respond to children and young people at risk of self-harm or suicide. This detail is captured in individual client files.
(c) Responsibilities for front line services – including CSATS and IHS – include identifying children and young people who are at-risk of self-harm and suicide, and providing an appropriate, safety-focused response.
(d) $17.2 million has been approved in the State Budget over the forward estimates from 2026-27 to 2029-30 financial years to maintain existing funding uplifts for CSATS, IHS and Kimberley Sexual Abuse Prevention and Support Service, and support service redesign, monitoring and evaluation.
(e) The Department of Communities does not hold this data.
