1. As at 31 May 2015 there were 293 prisoners in custody at the Bunbury Regional Prison.
2. As at 31 May 2015, of the 118 shared cells available at Bunbury Regional Prison, 73 were shared by 146 prisoners.
3. As at 31 May 2015 no shared cells were occupied by more than two prisoners.
4. As at the end of May there were 114 FTE Prison Officers.
5. As at the end of May there were 28 FTE Vocational Support Officers.
6. As at the end of May there were six vacant positions
· 2 x VO3 Chef Instructors - vacant for two months
· 1 x VO3 Construction Instructor - vacant for four months but covered by a fixed term contract employee until 10 July 2015
· 1 x VO2 Video Link Officer - Position created 24 April 2015
· 1 x VO2 Systems Admin & Warrant Officer - vacant for six months but covered by a temporary deployment until 30 June 2015
· VO2 Activities/Library Officer
7. In 2012 there were 13 assaults against prisoners.
In 2013 there were 17 assaults against prisoners
In 2014 there were 21 assaults against prisoners
From 1 January 2015 until 31 May 2015 there were 4 assaults against prisoners
8. In 2012 there were 2 assaults against staff.
In 2013 there were 5 assaults against staff.
In 2014 there were 12 assaults against staff.
From 1 January 2015 until 31 May 2015 there was 1 assault against staff.
9. As at 31 May 2014 there were 61 Aboriginal male prisoners, out of a total of 336 prisoners, comprising 18.15% of the inmates at Bunbury Regional Prison.
As at 31 May 2015 there were 58 Aboriginal male prisoners, out of a total of 293 prisoners, comprising 19.80% of the inmates at Bunbury Regional Prison.
