(a) Prevention, promotion and protection activities focus on protecting, supporting, sustaining and maximising mental health among populations and individuals and increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors to reduce the incidence and prevalence of mental health problems and illness.
The Mental Health Commission provides grant funding to a number of organisations to undertake mental health promotion, prevention and protection activities. This is in addition to recurrent funding for provision of this service.
Provisional grant funding is established during Budget preparation and may be revised through the course of the year.
(b) The figures below reflect funding for mental health promotion, prevention,
social inclusion and stigma reduction services.
