CABINET MINISTERS — DECLARED
PECUNIARY INTERESTS
689. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
(1) Have any
ministers declared pecuniary interests in relation to government decisions
during this term of government?
(2) If yes to (1), did those
ministers excuse themselves from participating in those decisions?
(3) If yes to (1), which ministers
made those declarations and in relation to which declared interests?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1)–(2) Yes.
(3) In relation
to decisions of cabinet, the confidentiality of cabinet documents, discussions
and decisions is a long-established principle and has been regarded as
essential for the maintenance of cabinet collective responsibility and
frankness between ministers and officials. For this reason, declared interests
are not disclosed.
