(1) Does the Minister acknowledge that there are noise and traffic issues adversely affecting residents living in close proximity to the freight line in Midland/Woodbridge; and
(a) if yes, what plans does the State Government have in place to take steps to minimise noise and traffic issues in the short-term related to the freight line in Midland/ Woodbridge?
(2) What reports or tests have been carried out by any Government department or private contractor on behalf of Government into noise and traffic issues related to the freight line in Midland/Woodbridge in the last five years?
(3) Will the Minister table copies of any reports or tests that have been undertaken?
(4) Is the Minister able to provide any further information on what is being done to address residents’ concerns?

(1) The Government is aware of rail noise concerns of residents living adjacent to the Midland rail line and in the Woodbridge railway triangle area.
(a) The Public Transport Authority is currently investigating resident's concerns regarding the freight noise issue by conducting noise level testing to compare against National Standards. The Minister is expecting a report when the investigation is completed.
(2) - (3) The previous Government prepared three reports in 2006.
