Under the WA Forest Industry Structural Adjustment Package (WAFISAP), negotiated between the State and Commonwealth Governments, assistance to retrenched workers is through the Workers' Assistance Guidelines (WAG). $8 million has been set aside for WAG.
(2) WAG provides special redundancy payments, retraining and relocation assistance, and wage subsidies.
(3) $1 078 782 spent on WAG up to 24 October 2000.
(4) 214
(5) 68 were ineligible, as they did not satisfy the eligibility criteria of having at least 9 months service with their employer.
