SOUTH WEST INTERCONNECTED SYSTEM - RENEWABLE ENERGY
I refer to the government’s election commitment to achieve a target of six per cent renewable energy in the south west interconnected system by 2010. (1) What is the historical and expected annual level of energy consumption in gigawatt hours per annum on the SWIS for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010? (2) What is the historical and projected level of renewable energy generation in gigawatt hours per annum for those years? (3) What specific measures has the government put in place to secure its target of six per cent renewable generation by 2010? (4) Does the government have a policy to purchase renewable energy? (5) If yes to (4) - (a) how many gigawatt hours per annum of renewable energy has the government contracted to procure; (b) how many gigawatt hours per annum is the government expected to purchase by 2010; and (c) has the government procured, or will the government procure, renewable energy certificates to substantiate those procurements? Hon KIM CHANCE

I regret to advise that I do not have the question. Considering the length of the question, perhaps the appropriate minister’s office is still reading it!
