I have a
supplementary question. How is it a good thing that this is the most policed
area in Perth and the state?

Police will always
respond to areas of need, and they will resource accordingly. I think it is a
good thing that the police resource appropriately. I am not suggesting for a
moment that it is a good thing there are issues at this address. We are all
working very hard to ensure that those issues are reduced—that the
temperature is taken away and certain individuals are dealt with. But to make
light of my comments and to twist those words for cheap political pointscoring
is—

Mr Reece Whitby: I heard the member for Kalamunda's
speech yesterday. You seem like a reasonable person. Why don't you keep your
standards? My response to the member is that as police minister, I will always
ensure a response and resources. That is what people expect. That is a good
thing. It is not a good thing when crime happens in the community, but it is a
good thing when there is a massive response to it.
