SCHOOLS OF
ISOLATED AND DISTANCE EDUCATION — 2015 PROJECTED BUDGET
804. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
(1) Can the
minister confirm that the projected funding under the new funding model for
2015 for the Schools of Isolated and Distance Education has not yet been
allocated, and made available to SIDE?
(2) When will
SIDE receive its projected budget under the new model for 2015?
(3) Are there
any other components of the Department for Education providing education in
2015 that have not yet been allocated their projected budgets for 2015?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) No; SIDE
is one of a small number of schools providing unique programs or having a
unique mode of delivery to students. These schools received their 2015
preliminary budget based on the current 2014 resourcing model and related
one-line budget calculator specific to their school. This one-line budget
calculator was made available through the Department of Education portal on the
same day as all other schools received their 2015 preliminary budget, which was
29 July 2014. Schools such as SIDE will operate with a one-line budget and have
the same information technology system and support available to all other
schools.
(2) Not
applicable.
(3) All
schools have received either a preliminary student-centred funding model budget
or access to their school's one-line budget calculator to project their
budget for 2015.
