FOREST
PRODUCTS COMMISSION — COMPLIANCE AUDITS
841. Hon GIZ WATSON to the minister representing the
Minister for Environment:
I refer to the Forest Products Commission website, which
states ''Audits of the FPC's compliance with the FMP are also
undertaken by the Department of Environment and Conservation and the
Conservation Commission of Western Australia''.
(1) Are the
minister's department's audits of the FPC's compliance
with the forest management plan for the years 2010 and 2011 publicly available;
and, if so, where?
(2) If no to
(1), will the minister please table them?
(3) If no to (2), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) The
Department of Environment and Conservation's audits of the activities
of the Forest Products Commission are made publicly available in summary form
in DEC's yearbook. The 2010–11 yearbook, pages 86 to 91,
reports on two audits: landing rehabilitation; and coupe management and
environmental protection. The 2011–12 yearbook is in preparation.
(2) It is
recommended that the member submits a freedom of information application to the
Department of Environment and Conservation regarding this request.
(3) Not applicable.
