When in Opposition the Treasurer Eric Ripper called upon the Belmont Council to hold some public forums to discuss developments along the banks of the Swan River -
(1) Has the Treasurer spoken to the Planning Minister about this proposal?
(2) If yes, did the Planning Minister agree with the Treasurer’s proposal?
(3) Is the Planning Minister going to initiate any meetings in relation to community input on development along the Swan River?
(4) Is the Minister aware of any meetings on the issue organised by the City of Belmont?

(2) This action was taken before I became Minister. (3) The Member for Belmont has indicated he will be consulting with the community about the benefits of further meetings. The Member should also be aware that development directly abutting the Swan River is primarily the repsonsiblity of the Swan River Trust and questions in relation to its activities should be directed to the Parliamentary Secretary representing the Minister for the Environment. (4) See (1) above.
