(1)    The number of charges for the assault of a Police Officer cannot be reported. Assaults on police officers fall under Section 318(d) of the Criminal Code, Assault Public Officer. Charges under this section are not recorded in a manner that allows charges to be disaggregated by the profession of the victim. Please refer to the response to Legislative Assembly Question on Notice 544 for data related to the offence of ‘Assault Police Officer’ as recorded in the WA Police Force Incident Management System.
(2)    Not applicable.
(3)   Table 1. Offences with an ‘offender processed’ outcome as a proportion of all Assault Police Officer offences reported between 01 July 2021 to 30 September 2025.

Notes
·         Statistics are provisional and subject to revision.
·         Table 1 provides the proportion of total Assault Police Officer offences that have an ‘offender processed’ outcome recorded. An offender is identified in the Western Australia Police Force’s Incident Management System as an individual bearing responsibility for an offence. Offenders can be processed by varied means and have not necessarily been charged or convicted by a court.
