VICTIMS OF CRIME — MID-WEST COUNSELLING SERVICE 547. Hon BRIAN ELLIS to the minister representing the Attorney General: I refer to counselling services for victims of crime in the mid-west, which covers a region twice the size of Tasmania. (1) In which towns are mid-west counselling services located, and what geographic area does each of them cover? (2) How many staff members and/or contracted personnel provide services at each centre? (3) How many hours of counselling are offered each week by each service? (4) During the 12 months to 20 April, how many clients were counselled at each centre and what was the average number of hours provided to each client at each centre? (5) During that period, how many clients applied for counselling at each centre but were — (a) turned away; or (b) sought counselling elsewhere because of a lack of counselling hours? (6) With a view to ascertaining counselling continuity during that period, how many clients had their cases managed by — (a) more than one person; (b) more than two people; or (c) more than three people? Hon SUE ELLERY
