The Minister Replied:
The Minister for Regional Development has advised that the information that applicants include with the nomination application papers, as well as the views of people referred to in the response to the Honourable Member's Question on Notice No. 969, is regarded as being appropriate to allow the formulation for a recommendation to Cabinet.
In regard to public service appointments, in the majority of cases, appointments are either for fixed term appointments of up to five years or for full-time employment. This is not the case for Board members whose commitment is usually limited to about one day a month, with the maximum term of appointment being three years.
