(1) - (3) No pre-release programs have been conducted since 29 March 2005 (with the exception of one prisoner located at Bunbury Regional Prison who is undertaking a single component of the program) whilst Justice Mahoney reviewed these programs. The Department of Justice has conducted specific programs termed "Pre-release Programs" for prisoners serving Life and Indeterminate sentences. These were conducted by the Department and not outsourced to external agencies. They sometimes involved placement at minimum-security facilities and have components, which included Home Leave and Section 94 Activities (Minimum-security prisoners working in the community).
