(9) The initial focus of the Ministerial Taskforce on Approvals, Development and Sustainability concerned streamlining the State's approval processes through administrative, institutional and legislative measures. In September 2009 the Taskforce agreed to address land and housing availability and associated issues in specified regional centres and the Perth metropolitan area and steer the development of an effective training and resource development strategy to address potential skills shortages in the resource sector.
The Ord East Kimberley Steering Committee is a committee of relevant Directors General and Chief Executive Officers to oversee construction, approvals, Commonwealth liaison and future expansion of the Ord East Kimberley Expansion project.
(10) The Ministerial Taskforce on Approvals, Development and Sustainability comprises:
Premier and Minister for State Development (Chair);
Minister for Environment;
Minister for Indigenous Affairs;
Minister for Mines and Petroleum;
Minister for Planning;
Minister for Regional Development; Lands; and
