I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for the Environment has provided the following response - (1) The application for CPS 978/1 was received on 8 December 2005, and the application for CPS 980/1 was received on 15 December 2005. Permit CPS 978/1 was granted on 16 August 2006 and CPS 980/1 will be granted on 25 August 2006. (2) The areas under application are in close proximity to Bush Forever sites and threatened ecological communities, and clearing may impact on these values. As a result the Department of Environment and Conservation has been developing a proposal for offsets in consultation with the City of Wanneroo and the parks and conservation service of the DEC. DEC staff have remained in continuous contact with the City of Wanneroo throughout the process.
