NEW WOMEN'S REMAND AND REINTEGRATION
FACILITY — PREFERRED OPERATOR
597. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the
Attorney General representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to the acting minister's
media statement of 2 June 2016 about the preferred operator of the new women's
remand and reintegration facility and the statement —
''If negotiations between the
State and Sodexo are unsuccessful, the facility will be operated by the
Department of Corrective Services.''
(1) What is required of Sodexo for
the negotiations to be successful?
(2) Is cost the only factor for
successful negotiations?
(3) If no to (2), what are the other
criteria for successful negotiations?

It is a biohazard over here!
The Minister for Corrective Services
thanks the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The state has
entered into negotiations with Sodexo. The state is unable to comment further
until the contract has been awarded. It is expected that negotiations will be
complete in late July, early August.
(2)–(3) Refer to (1).
