(a)-(e) The collision occurred on the Defined Interstate Rail Network which is under the jurisdiction of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB). The ATSB are currently investigating the incident and a preliminary report is available on their website.
This section of rail network is leased to Arc Infrastructure, who are the relevant accredited Rail Infrastructure Manager under the regulation of the Office of National Rail Safety Regulation.
