The Department of Consumer and Employment Protection, Building Industry Special Projects Inspectorate (BISPI) provided me details on the seven criminal prosecutions that it is aware have been taken by the Western Australian Police Service (WAPS) against participants in the building and construction industry. The department does not have access to official WAPS records and some particulars of the prosecutions are unknown. Therefore, I am unable to provide a complete response to the members question or confirm that the seven prosecutions identified by the department constitute the total number of prosecutions undertaken by the WAPS.
