NMAHS (North Metropolitan Area Health Service) plans to employ 25 trainee Assistants in Nursing (AINs) at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital (SCGH) in April 2009.
PathWest plans to employ 10 Pathology Technical Assistant trainees (including indigenous persons) in country WA only.
(e) $593,750, consisting of funding of $243,750 for 25 AINs at the SCGH Nursing Department and $350,000 for 10 trainees at PathWest country centres.
(i) Not applicable.
(f) The budgetary process has not been finalised and until it is completed, I am not in a position to guarantee additional funding for more participants in apprenticeships and traineeships.

(f) The NMBWA budget is funded by registration fees paid by Nurses and Midwives and is not part of the State Government budgetary process. At this stage, it appears a National Agency will set the Budgetary framework for NMBWA and all Health Professions for 2009/10 and it is unknown if funding will be provided for recruitment in the 2009-10 budget for more participants for apprenticeships and traineeships. .
