the minister representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the
"whereabouts sought" statements issued last month for Kevin Shane
Banks and Geoffrey Eric Garraway.
(1) Why were the statements issued?
(2) Why was the public urged not to
approach the men?
(3) How long had their whereabouts been
unknown at the time of the statements?
(4) Have they been found?

I thank
the member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been
provided by the Minister for Police.
(1) The individuals were believed to be
able to assist police with ongoing investigations.
(2) In both cases there were sufficient
antecedents to justify a community alert.
(3) Banks was wanted on 7 May 2026 and
was apprehended on 27 May 2026. Garraway was wanted on 14 May 2026 and his
whereabouts remain unknown.
(4) Banks was apprehended on 27 May 2026
and Garraway is yet to be located.
