Regional Development, I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) The
Liberal–National government has announced WA Open for Business, a $20 million
program to support increased investment in the agrifood sector, as part of the
$300 million Seizing the Opportunity Agriculture initiative. This includes the
establishment of a local trade office in Perth, which will act as a shopfront
for those seeking advice and information on investment opportunities.
(2) The trade office is expected to be established in the
next few months.
(3) It will employ seven staff.
(4) The
Department for Regional Development and the Minister for Regional Development
will be responsible.
(5) The funding allocated to WA Open
for Business is $20 million.
