MULLEWA POLICE STATION, 44-HOUR WEEK
Mr President, I thank you for your endorsement of my get fit program by having me jump and down every five minutes! The PRESIDENT: I might be able to help the member further, if he needs additional assistance! Hon FRANK HOUGH: My question to the minister is - (1) Can the minister acknowledge the formal internal request from the chief executive officer of the Shire of Mullewa to the Commissioner of Police for the implementation of a 44-hour week? (2) Given the documented substandard levels of police presence in the area and difficulties in recruiting and maintaining staff, why has a 44-hour week incentive not been extended to the Mullewa Police Station? (3) The existing Mullewa Police Station was recognised by the Western Australia Police Service as substandard and unable to effectively cater for the allocated police officers and support staff. Does the Government support the early construction of a new station or upgrading of the present Mullewa Police Station? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS
