The Department of Corrective Services (the Department) advises:
(a)
Financial year
Ratio of prison officers to prisoners
2014-15
1 : 2.9
1 Jul 2015 - 30 Sep 2015
1 : 3.1
(b) The ratio of prison officers to prisoners for each shift within each financial year identified in (a) is unable to be reported from current systems.
(c) The ratio of prison officers to prisoners on individual shifts is not able to be provided as prisoner population information is based on a midnight count for each date only, rather than for individual shifts. Staffing information related to individual shifts is maintained in the Departments rostering system.
(d) Not applicable.
