question. The Department of Housing advises —
(1) There are 1 174 public housing
properties in the department's Bunbury zone.
(2) As at 31 May 2014, 20 properties—that
is less than two per cent—were unoccupied.
(3) (a) Since 31 May
2014, five properties have subsequently been occupied. Of the remainder, one
has significant fire damage, four are undergoing refurbishment, three are
undergoing vacated maintenance, one is awaiting allocation, and six are in a
non-lettable code. Properties may be non-lettable for a variety of reasons,
including redevelopment, sale or major refurbishment.
(b) Due to the
level of detailed information required, the department is unable to provide the
information in the time available. If the member would be kind enough to place
the question on notice, I will endeavour to provide a detailed response.
