Principal chaplaincy program
416. Mr Liam Staltari to
the Minister for Education:
I have a
supplementary question. How is it that the government can fully fund a
racetrack for $217 million but the minister refused to guarantee a program for
principals in country WA for as little as $400,000 a year?

AnswerView source ↗

I think that the
shadow Minister for Education is trying to verbal me. I think that is actually
what is happening here. I reiterate what I said in my first answer. Principals
and school leaders play an incredibly important role in our public schools.
School leadership has never been more important in our system. We as a
government have and will continue to support them in a variety of ways.
Mr Basil Zempilas interjected.
The Speaker: Leader of the Opposition!
Ms Sabine Winton: How we fund them and through which
programs is a decision for government, not for the member.
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Thank you, members!
