GNANGARA ROAD — UPGRADE
91. Hon LINDA
SAVAGE to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the front page article of the Ellenbrook Advocate dated 14 March 2012 that claimed a
multimillion-dollar upgrade of Gnangara Road would be unveiled by the transport
minister, including a roundabout at the intersection of Gnangara Road and West
Swan Road, traffic lights on the corner of Beechboro Road and Gnangara Road and
traffic signals on the bridge before the intersection of West Swan Road and
Great Northern Highway.
(1) Are these claims correct?
(2) If yes to (1), why did the unveiling not go ahead last
week as stated in the article?
(3) What funding has been included in the budget?
(4) Who made these claims to the Ellenbrook Advocate ?

Minister for Transport advises —
(1)–(4)
The government is currently engaged in the budget process in which all projects
are under consideration. Information relating to road and other projects
throughout the state will be made public, as appropriate, once formal processes
have been finalised.
Hon Sue Ellery : Maybe he shouldn't have done it—should
he?
Hon Simon O'Brien : Done what?
Hon Sue Ellery interjected.
Hon Simon O'Brien : Do you believe everything you read in the
paper?
