DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — LAND — CITY OF SWAN
754. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for Education:
I refer to land within the City of
Swan owned by the Department of Education and earmarked for future school
sites. What are the current projected time lines for development of each of the
sites that are held?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
New schools are identified when
there is an identified need, taking into account enrolment pressure on existing
schools and the rate of new development occurring in the contributory area. New
primary schools are usually identified two years in advance of opening to
ensure that the most up-to-date enrolment and housing development information
is available. The Department of Education currently owns three future primary
school sites in the City of Swan. The sites are located in Bennett Springs,
Jane Brook and South Caversham. There are no current plans to establish a new
primary school on any of these sites. Existing schools servicing these areas
have capacity for current and projected enrolments.
