In relation to recommendations made by the Western Australian Local Government Association regarding improvements needed to legislation and policy within the Minister's portfolio of local government, I ask:
(a) will the Minister progress a protocol guiding communication and consultation between the State Government and the Local Government sector being developed and implemented as a matter of urgency, and If not, why not;
(b) does the Minister support a Local Government Commission being established in Western Australia, if so, when, and if not, why not;
(c) does the Minister support that LandCorp and other Government Trading Entities' rate equivalency payments be made to the relevant Local Governments instead of the State Government, if so, when, and if not, why not;
(d) does the Minister support that a review be undertaken to remove fees and charges from legislation and councils be empowered to set fees and charges for Local Government services; and
(e) does the Minister support a review, with the involvement of the Association and the Local Government sector, examining the regulatory and compliance burden of Regional Local Governments being undertaken, if so, when, and if not, why not?

(a) The State government has an agreement in place with West Australia Local Government Association and Local Government Mangers' Association (WA) to guide State and Local Government relations when dealing with Local Government matters.
