There are 30 mental health beds for patients 16 years and older in the Perth Metropolitan area and 26 mental health beds for adolescents and young adults.
8 mental health beds through Hospital in the Home (HiTH) for patients 16 years and older.
WACHS does not have beds specifically reserved for youth mental health, however, if a child, adolescent or young person requires a mental health bed, they are referred to the appropriate metropolitan Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
WACHS may use the Emergency department, general hospital beds or paediatric general ward beds where clinically appropriate until a more appropriate mental health bed is secured in the metropolitan area.
