The Department of Justice advises:
1-3) ECHO was designed to support internal operations and interfaces with the Total Offender Management Solution (TOMS), but it does not currently support external interoperability. The Department continues to prioritise safe and effective health service delivery within the custodial environment. A key consideration in any potential integration is the need to safeguard sensitive health information in a custodial setting. To support future service improvements the Department is developing a business case to review ECHO and explore future options. This work will consider opportunities to enhance digital health capabilities, including integration with broader health systems, while ensuring that any solution meets the unique requirements of custodial care.
