I refer to the Minister’s answer to my Question on Notice No. 3172, specifically concerning the One Life Suicide Prevention Small Grants scheme and ask: (a) what organisations in the Kimberley during 2014 applied for the grant under the One Life Suicide Prevention Small Grants scheme; (b) how many and what organisations in the Kimberley during 2014 were successful in their applications and received a grant under the One Life Suicide Prevention Small Grants scheme and what was the value of each of those grants; and (c) what funding is available and in what amount to organisations this year under the One Life Suicide Prevention Small Grants scheme?

(b) Six grants were provided to five organisations. Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan ($10,000) July 2014 - To continue to support the initiatives that commenced in the first Community Action Plan for the Fitzroy Valley around networking, collaborative program development and program delivery.
Anglicare WA ($10,000) July 2014 - Using digital media to give Derby and surrounding communities a voice around their lived experience relating to suicide.
Kurungal Council Local Drug Action Group ($10,000) July 2014 - Provide community awareness among the Wangkatjungka community, this involved conducting four camps, two men and two women, each camp having 15 participants.
Shire of Derby West Kimberley ($6,376) July 2014 - Derby Youth Centre took 6-8 'at risk' young people on two cultural weekend camps.
Shire of Derby West Kimberley ($10,000) November 2014 - Derby Youth Centre took 6-8 'at risk' young people on two cultural weekend camps.
Broome Headspace ($10,000) November 2014 - Eight week program culminating in a cultural camp for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island young people aged 13-17 years, bereaved by suicide.
$300,000 for local suicide prevention projects and training was announced in early 2015. Applications closed on 20 February 2015 and these are currently being assessed. Projects and training are up to the value of $10,000 and are to be delivered within six months of the application being approved. This is the final round for the 2014/15 financial year.
