(1) I refer to the Minister for Housing's recent announcement that it will inject $560 million into social housing to deliver an extra 1000 homes by 2017 and ask? (2) How many of the 1000 new homes will be built in the Peel Region? (3) Of the number of homes built in the Peel Region how many will be built in the following Shires and Councils: (a) Shire of Murray; (b) Shire of Waroona; (c) Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale; (d) City of Mandurah; and (e) Shire of Boddington? (4) If they are no plans to locate new housing from the 1000 new homes in the Peel Region, why not? (5) If not, what plans does the Minister have to tackle the long wait list for Homewest housing for Peel residents?

The Department of Housing advises:
The Liberal-National State Government has invested $560 million to deliver 1,500 homes, including 1,000 social housing properties over the next two years. This significant investment is aimed at the most vulnerable people in our community and will result in this Government halving the number of families with children and seniors currently on the priority waiting list for social housing by 30 June 2017.
(1)-(5) Initial planning for the social housing investment package is currently being undertaken. The aim of the package is to halve the priority waiting list for seniors and families with children. The housing opportunities will be provided where appropriate demand is identified. The actual numbers by location and the nature of the dwellings is yet to be determined.
