I refer to the
minister's answer to question without notice 572.
(1) Does the Treasurer
accept he did not answer my specific questions?
(2) Can the
Treasurer explain why he is not prepared to be open about whether important
information was removed from the draft midyear review?
(3) Why will
the Treasurer not provide a specific answer regarding the discussions the Under
Treasurer had about removing a reference to the Insurance Commission of WA
dividend?
(4) Will the
Treasurer now provide specific answers to my questions?

I thank the
member for some notice of the question.
(1) No.
(2) The
regulation governing the midyear review, the Government Financial
Responsibility Act 2000, was properly adhered to by the Under Treasurer, who
included the financial impacts of the decision to subject the Insurance
Commission of WA to a dividend. Accordingly, all appropriate information was
included in the midyear review.
(3) The
Treasurer is not privy to every single conversation the Under Treasurer or
Treasury officials have in the preparation of important financial documents
such as the midyear review.
(4) Please
refer to the answers to parts (1) to (3).
