In respect of the departments and agencies under the Minister’s control, I ask:
(a) how many Apple iPads have been purchased since January 2010;
(b) how many staff are supplied with home internet connections, either paid in full or subsidized;
(c) how many notebook computers have been recorded as lost, stolen or damaged in the year July 2009 until June 2010;
(d) how many mobile phones have been recorded as lost, stolen or damaged in the year July 2009 until June 2010;
(e) how many colour laser printers are currently installed in each department and/or office; and
(f) how many staff are provided with mobile internet access either via a mobile phone or wireless dongle?

Department of Transport
advises:
(a)  Nil for the period 1 January 2010 to Friday 19 November 2010
(b)  Three as at Friday 19 November 2010.

Damaged = 2
(d)  For the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010:
Lost = 4
Stolen = 3
Note: Damaged phones are recorded as disposed of, so there is no record of damaged phones.

Main Roads Western Australia
advises:
(a)  Two for the period 1 January 2010 to Friday 19 November 2010.

Note:  there are 12 Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line connections installed at staff premises that are paid for by Main Roads.  These services connect to Main Roads' corporate network, and do not provide direct access to the internet i.e. if the service is used for internet access then it is done via the corporate network where normal monitoring and filtering is applied.
