With reference to the proposed replacement agreement for the State’s teachers, administrators, school psychologists and swimming instructors, I ask:
(a) what is the full projected cost over four years, from 2012–13 onwards?
(b) what is the cost of the agreement in the 2011–12 financial year?
(c) will the Minister table the comparative analysis to substantiate the statement that Western Australian teachers will remain the highest paid in Australia?

(a) Based on the in-principle agreement reached in December 2011, and should teachers vote to accept the offer when registered, the agreement awards pay increases effective from the second pay period in December 2011, December 2012 and December 2013. The projected cost over the period 2012/13 to 2015/16 is $797,682,000.
(b) Based on the in-principle agreement reached in December 2011, and should teachers vote to accept the offer, when registered, the agreement awards pay increases effective 9 December 2011 and the projected cost for 2011/12 is $40,289,000.
(c) Attached is an extract from the comparison document compiled by the NSW Department of Education and Communities Industrial Relations Directorate on behalf of all States and Territories [see tabled paper no.].
The comparison document provides a snapshot of teaching conditions in Australian Government schools as at 1 February 2012.
It includes the top of the teacher salary scales in all States and Territories, which is used as the agreed benchmark for comparative purposes.
