Hon George Cash asked the Minister for Health whether the Department of Health, Healthway, and the Office of Health Review were involved in litigation as either Plaintiff or Defendant in 2001, 2002, or 2003. The Department of Health confirmed involvement in all three years, but stated that a comprehensive record was not centrally maintained.

There is no centralised record of all litigation conducted on behalf of the Department of Health and other agencies falling within the health portfolio in either a Plaintiff or Defendant capacity. The provision of an accurate and comprehensive response would involve a significant cost to obtain information across all agencies within the health portfolio.
However, if the Member has a particular issue of concern, I would be pleased to consider arranging for the agency to provide information, as appropriate, on that specific issue.
