I refer to the realignment of Roger Mackay Drive as part of the proposed Perth Park, and I ask: (a) what processes has the Western Australian (WA) Government taken to allow
a new public road to be built in parklands; (b) how wide will the road be; (c) who
will be responsible for maintenance of the public roads associated with the
motor racing track to be built; (d) is the
development of this road included in the budget for the proposed Perth Park or
will it be included in the general Main Roads budget; (e) will the realigned Roger Mackay Drive built through current parkland be open to the public except when the
park is closed for the proposed Supercars event; (f) how will the WA Government ensure the safety of wildlife, families and children, pedestrians and other park users remain safe to continue using the park; (g) what measures will the WA Government take to ensure that people don't use the realigned Roger Mackay Drive and adjoining Camfield Drive to have a 'racetrack experience' prompting unsafe and illegal driving; and (h) I refer to community reports that bollards were promised at a meeting regarding the proposed development on 14 May 2025 and ask will bollards be utilised to help ensure the safety of park users?

(a) – (h) Roger Mackay Drive is an existing private road that will be realigned as part of the Perth Park project. It is under ownership and management by Burswood Park Board and Venues West, which have both have been consulted.
The road will operate in the same way it does it now, but will also be part of the proposed cycling criterium training track, and would be closed to support an annual motorsport event.
